Taskbar Transparent Pro

Taskbar Transparent Pro lets you control the appearance of your Windows taskbar by assigning different transparency styles depending on what’s happening on screen. It works across multiple system states—called modes—which you can configure independently.

You can assign a transparency level, define a taskbar color, and choose whether to show or hide a 1-pixel top border—all from a unified interface.

Modes and Conditions

The app supports six independent modes, each representing a system state. These modes operate in parallel—only one is active at a time based on system behavior.

  • Desktop – No active windows in focus.

  • Visible Window – Any window is in focus but not maximized.

  • Maximized Window – A window is maximized.

  • Start Menu Opened – Windows Start menu is open.

  • Search Box Opened – Windows search interface is open.

  • Task View Opened – Task View (Win + Tab) is active.

Each mode can be enabled or disabled using its toggle switch. Only enabled modes will affect the taskbar appearance.

Transparency Mode Options

Each mode includes a Transparency Mode dropdown. Four options are available:

  • Normal – Default Windows behavior (no changes applied).

  • Opaque – Solid-color taskbar with no transparency.

  • Clear – Fully transparent taskbar; customizable color and opacity.

  • Acrylic – Semi-transparent with a frosted glass effect, similar to Fluent UI acrylic material. (Appearance depends on system GPU and compositor support.)

🔸 Modes like Clear and Acrylic support color customization; Normal and Opaque do not.

Color and Border Settings

When applicable, two additional controls appear alongside the transparency selector:

  • Color Picker – Select a color to apply to the taskbar when in Clear or Acrylic mode.

  • Top Border – Adds or hides a 1-pixel border at the top edge of the taskbar. Useful for defining visual separation on transparent styles.

Saving and Applying Changes

All changes are applied immediately. No restart is required.

Modes operate based on system state in real time. For example, if the “Start Opened” mode is enabled and set to Opaque, the taskbar will instantly change when you open the Start menu, then revert once it’s closed.
